Hella but not H4 - headlamp lenses

Hello,
I've currently got round Hella headlamps, which don't say H4 in the middle, but which I've fitted with halogen coversion bulbs (

Cheers,
Tim

Thanks - I've already fitted relays using the method described there. I was just wondering whether it was worth replacing the glass as well. I've pretty much decided to do it anyway, if only so I dont have to use the one type of crappy converter bulb..
Cheers.

I've seen quite a few comments on this forum regarding this and although I haven't any personal experiences, generally proper H4 units are said to give superior light and pattern. Conversion/hybrid bulbs in the older units are said to be something of a 'half way house' (better than with original Tungsten round bulbs) but knowhere near as good as the later setup.
Perhaps someone who has changed over will comment.

New proper H4 lenses + osram nightbreakers + new bulb connectors + relays after switches = good
