was just wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction with regards to changing an output shaft oil seal on my syncro? can it be done in the vehicle? im fairly confident in vehicle DIY but it also needs an output flange bearing too as the inner CV joint has play in it (new CV so its not that..) so im anxious this may be a gearbox out job? any help would be appreciated, THANKS

nearside flange will have some play it's normal and nothing to do with the bearing it's due to the design of the diff and the splined join between the flange and the diff and exascerbated by shagged cv's (ie the one you replaced)
You need the Bentley manual the whole procedure is in there, it's doable in situ but not easy to do right as access is pants
chances are the flange will be scored so new seal alone may not repair it , if scored you can speedisleeve it, Baxter sells the correct one now
