hi i need some advice i bought some 16 inch vw alloys but they dont fit on the hubs the dust cap if that is wot its called would stick out of the center hole of the alloy is there any way of adapting it or change the discs

Check out the wheels section in Wiki above............if the PCD is correct you may need spacers.

As above, check the wiki; "cheap fix" - spacers will be cheaper than new brakes!
Get decent extended studs from Brickwerks, they do spacers too

You can make caps that fit over the grease cap, or you can get shallower grease caps or you can follow the good advice from Andy
