I think the inboard ones are common to the Scirocco, but I don't think the outboard ones are. ICBW

Inners Scirocco, Outters are unique to the T25 (T3).

And you don't need R/H/D lamps to pass a UK MOT just light benders (stickers that remove the right kick of light) I prefer to use proper L/H/D to R/H/D light benders but others on here just use tape although this could be disputed as being temporary, at least the proper stickers look professional and more permanent.

Used R/H/D lights go for £250 plus.

You do need proper RHD lights now under the new MoT rules!

Hiya,

just checked my copy of the current manual http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/m4_int.zip" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , as far as I can see the rules regarding LHD lamps on RHD vehicles havent changed,

"Masks or converter kits may be fitted to righthand dip headlamps to temporarily alter the lamp for
use in the UK by removing the beam ‘kick-up’ to the right.
A headlamp altered in this way is not a reason for rejection, if:

a. the headlamp aim is not rejected for the
reasons listed under diagram 1 (except that
the top of the beam image will be a straight
line)
b. the light output is not unduly reduced - not
usually a problem with commercially
produced kits
c. the mask or converter is securely attached."

Cheers
Si

Now that would be a shocker

James...you will give that poor bloke a heart attack!

You know if that were true every L/H/D vintage motor with original lights would effectively be taken off the road...as the lights are OBSOLETE.

You would have every vintage car club: Lancia/BMW/Mercedes/Citroen/Peugoet/Pontiac/Ford/General Motors/Opel up and down the country lobbying the government against a rule that bans them from having their cherrished car on the road.
It just isn't going to happen!

Mine past it's MOT two days ago with light benders fitted and the tester even commented that they were fine.

I had mine MOT'd today and got an advisory on these and the tester said they would probably be illegal next year!

Like I say......I don't know how they could insist on this, just think of all the historic vehicles out there with R/H/D lighting where replacing lamps is simply NOT an option due to obsollesence.

It could be something that they have talked about that hasn't been thought through.
In my opinion the worst that could happen is the guidelines on 'light benders' and other products to alter the beam will be tightened and anything considered 'Temporary' or light restricting would be a fail....but of course this is the 'current wording' anyway.
The way I look at it is MOT's are all about 'safety' and as long as L/H/D lights are correctly modified there is nothing unsafe about them.
