Rear speaker placement

My caravelle has a pair of speakers mounted low down in the cab doors which gives a reasonable sound (not perfect as they are too low but OK for now). There are no speakers at all in the rear so i'd like to fit a set.
Should i fit them in the rear kick panel under the back seat or in the side panels either side of the back seat?
Ideally they'd need to be mounted higher up but i can't see any way of doing that.

Any suggestions?

Kick panel. Definitely. The choice is between mounting your speakers into a bit of ~30mm plywood, or hanging them off some 3mm weetabix trim panels.
My parents Caravelle was set up with the front speakers in the usual bottom of the door location, and the back ones in the kick panel. I always used to set it faded entirely into the back speakers because it sounded much better than anything that came out of the front ones. I don't think the height is a massive issue because they are four or five feet behind you.

If they're not too large, how about either side of the rear overhead locker like here?

I have my rear speakers in the tailgate panel.
They get muffled when fully loaded and I had to recess them so they don't get banged about.
When parked up you can sit under the tailgate and hear your music without blasting it out.

Mine are in the kick panel. There was not enough gap behind them as thats where my lpg tank is.So i made these stand offs from mdf.
