Hi all not used the van since before xmas now when i start it the oil light comes on and stays on till the engine is hot then goes out any ideas cheers.

Strangely it's normally the other way around if you actually did have low oil pressure (ie; light off and comes on when hot)
The way you describe this fault it is probably just a faulty switch so I would try replacing the switch first.
If you have access to an oil pressure tester it may be wise just to test oil pressure in order to illiminate 'low pressure' as an option. However, I really doubt this is the issue.

since it's the opposite way round from usual, I wonder if the wrong oil pressure switch in the head has been used - the 0.25 bar (blue - normally closed) switch earths under that pressure, and the 0.9 bar (grey - normally open) switch for example, earths over that pressure - there are others too - I think white is 1.8 bar. This might produce something similar - i.e. when it's hot the pressure is lower and the normally open switch would not earth.
