Hi All
I am hoping someone will know which relay or gadget in the glove compartment controls the temperature guage on a 1988 Syncro diesel (JX) single cab transporter that I bought new.-IMHO the finest truck ever built next to the unimog!!! I also have another one that I bought for spares and when I move from here they will both be up for sale.
Thanks Richard

News to me Richard, that a relay controls the temp gauge on a JX, but I'll look at the Bentley... surely owning one for so long, a Bentley would be in the library by now?

Hi Harry I have never heard of bentley until I just looked up on google. When I said relay it was for want of a better word.I suppose it could be a reostat in the actual guage.

Guess you might mean the temp sender, in the engine. If you put up a post in Tech Advice (as a JX is a JX whetherin a Syncro or not, temp gauge wise) explaining the symptons, then hopefully you'll get some good responses...
Bentley, by David Bentley, the T25 bible... sortof. Its certianly thick and expensive enough to be one
Cheers

Make sure none of the sender wires on the engine have come off.
After you've done that, take the dash pod off and disconnect the connector plug and clean the contacts gently. Now re-assemble and it should work. It's only wires to the gauge, I reckon.

Thanks Diamond It was a corroded tab on the sender, should have checked it properly before asking,
but now I know there is some good advice out there.
Got my beady eye on a new 4x4 California, I bet it won't be a patch on the old uns
