Definitive answer for leisure batteries...

That fit under the seat.
I have looked at all the sites suggested by the wiki but so far have been unable to find one that will fit. Has anyone actually bought a battery that fits there, without a swivel mech in place. If so what is the make and where on earth did you get it from.
I'm struggling like anything, made even worse by the fact I live in Spain, trying to find a leisure battery itslef is proving a bit of a 'mare.

Please help... when I bought the van there was an ordinary small car battery there, 30Ahc so as you can imagine that did not last long. Fine when the altrnator was charging it but given that I work away from home a month at a time it soon loses everything! As it wasn't designed for that it has given up the ghost. I believe the split charge relay system is working OK but will have to check that out separately when I can get a 'proper' battery for there.

I have bought a new starting battery as well as that has died a death as well, 70Ahc should be OK for the diesel (1.6Jx) Always started on the button.

Any answers would be appreciated.

Cheers

Jon

Thanks for that about the normal battery, but I was hoping for a deep cycle version.
I know they do them but tracking one down is proving elusive.
I shall keep looking, but not on the golf courses though!!! LOL

I ended up using a small normal battery same as kev mentions. A Bosch one from GSF. Not deep cycle but fine for providing lights on the rare trips where there's no hook up like at Vanfest. I have a swivel seat and had to remove it first. Bit tight but have a relay fitted and earthed ok.

It can double up as a spare starter if needed as well. I went for this duel purpose option as i've had 2 power packs that have let me down in the past and take up to much space.

Sorry i realise this isn't much help if you need a proper leisure battery but if all you use is a few lights it's a good compromise.
