Stereo that fits!

Hi All,
Just replaced that head-unit in the bus.
The one that was fitted was hanging out of the dash as there is not enough room/ depth.
Using the new one (which just has an SD/ USB slot) allows the head unit to be really small.
Only prob is that is not removable, but a cover should deter (some) prying eyes.
Head unit was £35.
"Beat 175"

I have no connection with the seller - just for illustration as it's solved a problem!
Cheers

Ah, the advantages sometimes of ignorance of "known problems"... I just lobbed the full-depth head unit that I happened to have kicking about into the van - and it fitted. I had to have a little wiggle about behind it with some of the wiring, especially the connector blocks, to get it out the way - but that was easy enough, just by removing the ashtray. There's no spacer used, either.

Did you know about the spacer for deep heads Adey?

I have a new MP3 player only headunit to go in mine when the weather picks up, and its clearly a good 2 inches shorter than the retro cassette headunit currently fitted, so should fit well.

Yeah, I knew about the spacer but didn't like the "hanging out of the dash" look!
The MP3 only player, as Mickyfin says, is significantly shorter.
It also has a USB connection that can be used to charge iphones etc.
A neat solution for the price!

A spacer is a small price to pay for being able to play whatever method of music I like any time I like. I don't even notice the spacer now on what is really a pug ugly dashboard design on the whole

The one I've got fitted with no spacer is a Pioneer DEH-6100BT CD/USB/MP3/Bluetooth... A quick google says 179mm depth.

I've got one of those Beat 175 units and it's great; I use the aux in with my iPod or if it's a planned long journey I load the SD card with music. I can charge my phone through the USB too.
