a small dribble of coolant seems to be coming out of a short curved coolant hose that runs under my air filter box - from the engine block... to.. errr... the other end!
from underneath it looks like
from top - my accusing fingie identifies
does anyone know what this piece of pipe is called? what it does? and where i might get a new one from?
any comments appreciated
only a very slight loss of coolant and no overheating issues at the moment.....

Hello,
I'm no expert on the DGs but does this diagram help?
I think it's number 18 - which is part number 251121130B...
Also maybe this:

Good luck fixing it
Ewen

Hi
Thats the feller, I would hate to be the bringer of doom but ours also began as a dribble, ended up popping off the cylinder head spilling our expensive new coolant all over the M40 fortunatly just by a service slip road. Limped into services very slowly, had to slice a bit of rubber from the rear tail gate seal and fuse it to the split in the hose with the cooker ring, Mrs Beeee then came running out of Holiday inn with two large containers of water saying that she has broken the taps and couldnt turn them off, it then started to rain heaviliy in a horizontal direction. Anyway, the weekend turned out fine as it usually does and I have now got a reminder everytime I open the rear tail gate that I should not ignore coolant drips in the future.

You may wish to check your engine mounts ... this hose gets twisted about as the engine rocks ... fastened as it is to both the cylinder head and the body of the van (via the plastic distribution tower) so excessive movement in the mounts may have helped it on it's way.
