Hi

What would this dial be for? (reading AMPS, know).

It just sits there, needle not moving.

Cheers

its meant to measure the amps produced by your alternator, or the amp draw on your battery if the engine is off. Little point to it really, better off with a volt meter

Thanks Lloyd

I have two other dials which are volt meters. One pings round when I start so I assume thats reading the battery/alternator. The other reads the leisure battery.

Why would the AMP dial not be working? and if its not much use, have you any suggestions for a more useful dial to replace it?

Well if it never moves then maybe not connected? I like them as if the needle is on the neg side when running you know that you are using more than you are putting in/

A clock ?

Or you could put a "constantly paranoid gauge" in, otherwise known as an oil pressure gauge !

hmmm. I will have a look. How would I access the back to see if its coonnected? – does the face unscrew?

Also would this gauge have been an original feature?

Cheers

take the lower panel off and you should be able to get to it (triangular or v shaped one under the dash)
