Im after sugestions on removing my ugly high top from my van.The vans origanaly a westy pop top which has had a remio high top fitted but ive got a complete pop top for it as i want to return it to original. It was fitted by a remio place in germany and like most things they do its been done very well as its held down by tiger seal and a nice bit of silicon on the inside to finish off.Ive tryed to get a blade under it but i dont want to damage the vans original paint .So the question is is it possable to remove the top in one bit or just cut it up
Cheers chris

if your not bothered about it id cut it all the way round well above the roof so it leaves the lower lip still on the van, then take your time peeling off the rest.

I wouldn't worry too much about damaging the paint either, it would probably be a good idea to give it another few coats of paint before fitting the new pop top to help fend off the dreaded rust for a bit longer

It might sound extreme but the most practical way to get it off is to cut it off with a grinder, as Weldore says, leaving the lower lip attached to the gutter, then you can get above it and lever the remainder off with a chisel or something similar.

They're almost impossible to remove otherwise if they have been properly bonded on.

If you do it carefully and don't cut too much off you can even salvage the roof and sell it.

one of those 1mm discs would be great for doing that and not too much mess
