hi peoples,
anyone out there ever fitted porsche cup 1 alloys to a t25
with rear brake drums. i bought the adapts, but only work on the fronts!
do i have to knock out splined studs and swop with shorter ?
if this sounds obvious, then i apologise !

Are you saying the adaptors won't fit on the rear because they don't sit flush to the brake drum?
If so just remove the two 11mm retaining bolts out of the rear drums and the adaptors will then fit.

hi steve , cheers for response ,
i understand what your saying but , its the studs from drums that are the problem,
because the porsche alloys have a different diametre set , hence the adapters which
have to be fitted thru the original stud holes with some sort of shorter splined bolt with a flush fitting nut ,
so the alloys fit flush to face of adapters. was wondering if it was possible to tap out original studs ,
and swap with said splined bolts , or is it not poss ? obviously new to this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
many thanks, kieran.

You've lost me there because every set of adaptors I've had just bolted straight up using the original wheel studs and wheel nuts.

think i might have lost myself too !!!!!!
the alloys are porsche cup 1, and have a different 5 hole config , they fit perfect on fronts
with adapts because the original wheel fixings are screw in bolts , but the rear already have the bolts protruding from hub and the original
wheels just fitted with nuts . front disc brakes , rear drum brakes . tis a 1980 model air cooled .
again many thanks for responses, kieran

The adaptors fasten onto the front with the T25 wheel
bolts.
The rear adaptors fasten on with the T25 wheel
nuts.
Like these:

The front and rear alloys are then fastened on with wheel
nuts.
Simple really.

ahah , it does sound simple looking at bricks web page !
then looking at my 15mm thick adapts !
think ive been missinformed and sold the wrong ones !
the studs on my drums stick out 25mm , that was the problem with 15mm adapts !
thankyou very much for your patience and help , obviously needed !
happy new year !

i have 15mm adapters on the back of my t3 the studs on the adapter just go into the spacers on the back of the porsche wheel , if someone has fitted longer rear hub studs you may have to remove and fit original shorter studs due to you using only slim 15mm adapters on my other van i used 40mm rear adapters with cup 1 wheels to enable them to fill rear arch properly

to enable the cup wheels to fit the van with 40 mm adapters i had to re make a longer sliding door hinge due to the style of the cup wheel to stop any rubbing when opening the sliding door , i have since fitted the cup wheels to my porsche and now fittted 11 inch rear wheels with the same sliding door hinge as the larger wheels are a different design

the hinge is an easy mod. even easier if you have an early slider.

Just out of interest Kieran....what offset are the Porsche alloys for you to be using 15mm adapators?

et 55 fronts , et 70 rears , saw the same on a couple of t25s , looked nice , had the chance to get them quite cheap,so did.
contacted sts trading desk, who said they had the correct adapts, so got them, and , alas , dont work , they chose 15mm,
so i obviously thought they new what they were at.....
