hi everyone,i had to borrow my freinds bottle jack today and was suprised how high it lifted but the only thing that concerned me was the small lifting platform.i noticed this screws off so is there anything that can be used to make/bought the lifting platform on the jack bigger,cheers dave

Dave. I think you will find that the threaded nature of the saddle is to achieve extra mechanical height prior to loading the jack. If you feel a larger saddle is required to spread the load then a simple spreader plate placed between vehicle and jack is all that is required. I make good use of a discarded towball dropper plate which is 10mm thick steel some 100mm square.
Remember that a bottle jack is not particularly secure with side loading unless it has a very large base. Centre of gravity tends to take over.
