no power,blown fuse??

the acceleration cable has toutched the k&n air filter the cable went red through heat,sparked and now everythin is dead :( can anybody tell me if there is a main fuse or some thing as i have looked all over the van and can find no dead fuse`s

Not sure what has touched what, but red glow usually means lots of amps!

It's either dead beacuse you killed the battery. (Most likely if you couldn't 'unshort' the things that were touching!)

Or you've fused the main strap to the battery. Have a look at the connections under the driver's seat and see if the earth strap looks a bit melted!

thank`s i put the old battery on and she started first time :D :D
i only got her on saturday and thought i put her in an early grave!!

If it's really the accelerator cable, I'd be checking the engine earth, sounds like it might be earthing the whole engine and carrying the starter current when cranking. Check the strap between the front gearbox mount and the body.

Something is seriously wrong.
The accelerator cable should be at earth pottential as should the air filter.

As LG says check your earths.
Look for loose / worn wireing.

Get a volt meter, connect the black lead to the van bod and check around the engine bay for metal bits that are at 12V.
