evening all, a little help required please i have a 1.9 dg engined single cab that has developed an intermittent fault over the last couple of months, it started by cutting out when driving then wouldn't start unless left for 5-10 mins, then 2 weeks ago it cut out and wouldn't start at all, after checking fuel supply was ok started to check electrical side, replaced worn rotor arm and distributor cap, still wouldn't start, checked coil and found primary winding open circuit so replaced last night. engine started first time and ran for about 20 mins(6-8miles) no problems, this morning drove it to work fine stopped and restarted once on the way all fine, then left work this evening started fine but cut out after about 1 mile and refuses to start, any ideas where to look next, it's beginning to do my head in, thanks in advance baldy

morning all, to follow on from this van ran for four weeks with out problems until monday morning this week, when it failed to start. had to go to work so left until today, still won't start but turns over fine. tried changing amp module for a known good one (thanks billy) but still nothing, so went back through the system starting with the new coil which is reading open circuit on primary windings? this coil has only been fitted for five weeks, so any idea why this should have failed/ or how do i tell that i have fitted the correct one? i fitted a green sticker one, based on the readings from the secondary circuit on the old one and info in the haynes/bentley manuals (primary 0.5 to 0.8 ohms secondary 2.4 to 3.5 ohms) the original coil had 0.000 on primary and 3.2 on the secondary, however the new coil which was within those readings spec'ed in haynes when fitted is now showing primary 0.000 and secondary 3.79 so both readings are out of spec. please help if you can as,, 1 i need to use this truck as its my daily and 2 i'm trying to sell it to fund another purchase so obviously a running van will sell for more. thanks in anticipation a very frustrated and confused baldy

or,if there is a t25 expert in the uckfield east sussex area who would be willing/able to run through it with me tea, beer, other consideration would be forthcoming

Do you have an idle stabiliser unit fitted? If yes it can give the sort of problem you're referring to.
