im looking for a second hand heater petrol gas or diesel i don't mind cos i will run it off a tank
i see a lot of you have them.

what's my best bet ?
any one selling there old one ?

I'll have a petrol Eber from my westy for sale just after Xmas. It is best to have a heater that uses the same fuel as your engine.

i`d second that running of the fuel tank saves a lot of hassle. whatever you buy make sure 100% its working they can be very costly to fix. mine was bought as good but the ecu was duff seller wouldn`t help.

buy it and get it working straight away either in the van or at home on the bench.

Went for a 24volt webasto airtop diesel in my petrol syncro.... All came in at just over £100!!!

i would go for 24v and diesel if it was cheap like that!
might build it in to a removable box any way

Just been having some fun with night heaters - Fitted an eberspacher d5w (water heater type) to the house to back up the solar panels. Its fantastic. Then I fitted a trumatic e2400 gas heater to the back of the tumble dryer and threw away the heating element!! Eberspacher is the way to go. Good luck

If its worth anything, ive just been camping in the van in -10ºC in the Dolomite mountains and my Eberspacher D2 has been faultless. Left on all night the van is nice and warm come morning and sleeping without getting chilly during the night is worth every penny.

my d2 is excellect too. costly to fix but even so worth every penny.

I have had the Eber and a Propex and now have a Webasto. All pretty much the same performance wise. Similar in operation. Costs for parts for Eberspachers and Webastos are very high. A fuel pump for an Eber for example is £80 and that was a few years ago. I bought an Eber cheap and had to buy a few parts. When I priced up the parts it was cheaper to sell on the Eber and buy a brand new Propex than buy the parts.

Not an issue if you already have gas for your cooker and fridge is it!

Hi Slobbo. Please dont think this is a dig as its not, a newly refurbished propex on lots of the time for winter camping lasted me just short of four days on a westy 20l tank. I then had to find somewhere in Wales on new years day that was open and sold LPG, I couldnt cook anything, stay warm, work the fridge or continue on our trip with my little un realistically without that refill. It had been snowing for a few days and all the LPG/gas suppliers had run out through high demand and lack of deliveries. It took us a whole day and £30 in fuel to find somewhere that was open and we had to get gas again 4 days later, but we must have passed 100 petrol stations that sold the fuel that we had loads of in our tank. I got home, sold the propex and fitted a near new D2 Ebber and havnt had to worry about it or miss a days holiday etc since.
