T25 Differential adjustments 090 Automatics

We have a 1.9cc Watercooled T25 1985 camper with 090 3 speed automatic transmission
How easy is it to adjust the diff backlash /play - it looks like from the Bentley manual that there is some adjustment possible around the final drive output shafts that connect to the half shafts
Would this slack in the diff be more apparent when hot compared to cold.
You can feel the slack when you accelerate and decelerate at low speeds
