Having problems again starting my 1.7 deisel. Starts ok from cold, but still takes a couple of turns then chucks out loads of smoke. however when the engines hot and been left a few minutes it is a nightmare to start, sts eventually but not confinced it always will. It has blown 3 or 4 main 50amp fuses over the last year or so, could this be connected or is it something else to worry about. Any advice very gratefully received.
Richard

If that's the 50 amp fusible links you're talking about, for the glo plugs, then yes, of course it's linked... (to the glow plugs being suspect, essential for good clean starting from cold)

Hi, thanks for that , I'll get a new set of glow plugs tomorrow. Do you think it's worth getting relay as well?

Don't know quite enough to say, probably not first off... (unless you know the relay is holding them on , surely a constant yellow light on the dash would be the case then?)

Just put in new glow plugs, have also put in manual switch for glow plugs so I can turn them on when engine is warm. Seems to work , starting much better when hot.
Thanks for help.
