Hi everyone, I have recently bought my first camper a 1980 Devon Moonraker. I need to connect the sink tap to the water tank in the rear or possibly a new one, but not sure how to go about this. Is this something I could do myself? And if so what parts do I need, eg piping, pump etc. There is no leisure battery at the moment so need to get this sorted out as well. thanks in advance for any advice.

You just need suitably sized pipe, a submersible pump (about a tenner) and the necessary switch and wiring to the pump. You can connect it to the starter battery as it's only used for very short durations at a time.

Food grade hose is best for connecting the tank to the pump and then to the tap, as it won't taint the water with plastic, use stainless hose clips as they wont rust, with plastic or brass couplings
You can fit an external pump, under the sink maybe, a self priming pump is ideal (diaphragm type) or a cheaper pump with a one way valve to keep the pump primed.
The switch can be foot operated or located near the sink.

CAK tanks offer a wide variety of fittings and pumps.

You won't have to take the pipes outside, as this would increase the chance of frost damage, but even inside ,drain the pipes in the coldest weather, if you are not using the camper.
