Has anyone fitted a light in their glovebox? One that comes on when its opened?
If you are in the drivers seat, put the interior light on and reach for anything in the glovebox you cast a shadow across everything so have to do it by feel (ooer

).

there is the standard fitted one, as an option, which is on the outside, just under the lip of the dash.

I have often wondered this too, and seriously considering retro-fitting one myself.

Put the passenger side light on as well.

Afaik, not all T25's came with interior lights on both sides? I know mine only has them on the drivers side (LHD) front and rear. Besides, switching the passenger interior light (if fitted whilst driving would be a little too risky?

Not as bad as leaning over to reach and look into a glovebox whilst driving.

A bendy map-reading light plugged into ciggy socket comes in handy for things like this.

I never knew it was an option. It doesn't seem to show up on vagcat.
Does it switch on automatically as the glovebox is opened?
Trying to look in the glovebox when driving is bloody dangerous. I lost a good mate a few years back who was hit head on by a woman driving while looking for something in the glovebox.

Best solution (and cheap if you look around) are those 12v neon lights for PCs. Two-sided is all thats needed to fix one up. You could fit a microswitch if you wanted to but mine comes on when dash lights come on.

Funnily enough I'm halfway through installing a glovebox light as part of my 'dashboard out' list of jobs. Have run permanent +ve from the fusebox & an earth. Have got a wee microswitch like this one...

that's going to be mounted under the edge of the dash, so closing the glovebox will open the switch. Just trying to find a suitable bulb holder in my spare parts box. Will stick up a few pics when I've finished.

Stick a £3 led strip on the edge of the inside of the glove box and wire it in to the dash light circuit.
Oh and wear sunglasses when you open the glovebox

Mmmmmm, was thinking about LED strips. Had some blue ones in the footwells of the 323f and they looked brilliant.
Am off to ebay..........

Must admit, have just swapped the normal dash bulbs for blue LED's, same in the heater panel. Looks brilliant, but there is indeed a certain 'smurfness' to it all!
Need to nick the blue LED strips from the 323f and then we'll be fully 'smurfed-up'
