Yep, some people just use tigerseal or an equivalent - haven't heard of any coming off. You could make your own fitting kit if you really want; make a few small (2" width) 'V' shaped brackets from some sheet metal and fix them to the front of the roof; 'L' shaped for the back. Splodge some tigerseal on them and along the sides of the roof above the gutters and drop the high top back on.

Far stronger and more waterproof than a few bolts through fibreglass. You will need a lot of tubes depending upon the size of the gap at the junction - a continuous fillet all the way round from inside.
My solar panels have never moved on the roofs of my two vans at 100mph ( 60 + 40mph head wind) and they are just Soudaflexed (polyurethane adhesive sealant like Sikaflex,Tigerseal etc) on.

If you can get at it from the inside. Some conversions (like mine for instance) the inner high top 'furniture' prevents access so the sealent has to be applied to the van roof and any brackets before lowering the high top in place.

I fitted an "empty" hightop and used tigerseal allthe way round the van, sat the roof on and pushed the sides against the seal then from inside , ran a good thick bead all the way round as O.B.G. suggests.

whs^^^ got help off a mate to lift roof on before i put the tigerseal on and raised it up on axle stands while i glued it up. Then just drop the stands so the roof just slots into place.
