Having read through the last post titles this way, I am still none the wiser.

My 1989 2.1 Dj has developed a kanagrooing skip in 3rd and b4th gear mainly at motorway spped when coming off the throttle and then applying gentle acceleration, its even worse when I switch to LPG.
I think the problem is with an Air Leak but it doesn't appear to be one in the AFM or the pipe from the AFM meter to the Throttle Housing. I think that the air leak is from the seal that connects the throttle housing to the engine.

Any one got any ideas on how to repair this, I can not find anywhere that will sell the correct seal and I can't think of any other way of plugging the air leak short of putting a rubber patch over it.

O and if anyone one in the Wolverhampton area reads this where do you take your vans for servicing etc. Really could do with finding a decent VW garage in Wolves or surrounding areas.

I service my own van, but I know a my "old school" mechanic would be happy to service your camper.
he's near Showell Rd, Terrys Auto's is the name... I trust him and his judgement implicitly.
He's not strictly VW but our old vans (pre '90) are a joy to him as they are not complicated buggers.

if it's just an oil and filters change, and a check over... I maybe persuaded to do that for you

Don't know if a airleak would cause kangarooing, is tick-over normal?
Take the throttle off, clean it up & a smear of silicon around old seal may be an idea. Replace the vacum rubber pipes aswell.
