Hi
Putting the bus off the road over the winter and I am hoping to get under the bus all wire brushed and cleaned up, Was thinking of brushing on a rust converter and then overpainting with Chassis black, can anyone tell me if this would work, not really wanting to use Waxoyl.

underseal it unless you are going for a show bus.

I wouldn't bother with the rust converter
once the sealant (Dinitrol or waxoyl) then rust will not carry on rusting as you have removed a vital component....

Mixed bag under mine.
Rust converter on and then hammerite black on radiator brackets, fan cowl, trailing arms tie rods and steering gear etc. rust convertor on rust on the under body work then 3m schultz product (can't remember which one). Under the cab was not too bad, so dabbed the rust spots with rust convertor then painted with white hammerite. Same behind the grill.

Would agree with Zed I think. I'm no fan of hammerite but its ideal for underneath. I had little corrosion on the chassis but used the vactan (said in super hero type voice) and a coat of hammerite.
Loads of ways to do it though. I don't liker underseal much - messy and looks awful.

Thanks for all the good advice , I have ordered the vactan as I have heard it is really good and was thinking of using this stuff i found on Ebay to paint with.
