12 V supply to indicator fuse

Can anyone kindly tell me where the 12 V supply to the indicator fuse comes from. I had indicator failure today with Hazards working. Had a good look around on the forums and found a few others with similar problems which gave me enough information just to work out that the supply line was dead. If I "borrow" power from another 12 line the indicators work just fine... obviously not a long term solution though. I'm a bit nervous about pulling the back of the fuse box off... so does anyone know off hand where the wire goes to to collect the power that should be in it. Maybe its fallen off somewhere at the far end or maybe I should just run a new wire in.

I do have a wiring diagram but I can't understand it!

Thank's in advance.

Hello Dubwana,

according to my diagrams the indicator fuse is fed from the 15 track - not the X load reduction relay. This means that it gets power through the ignition switch. It then goes through the fuse to connector A13 on the multiblock at the back of the fusebox (on a later style one).

Most things are powered from the X bus in the fuse box, but a few things are controlled directly from the 15 - I'm not sure what sort of van/engine you have, but according to my Haynes, the horn is also run from 15 - might be worth checking that works and that the 15 track in the fuse box is ok.

Since this is likely a bad connection internally in the fuse box, I'd start by cleaning the connections to the fuse itself - and checking the springs are strong.

Good luck sorting it

That's grand! I'll be able to find it from there and follow it back. I'm driving an early diesel (81). It makes sense it comes from the ignition switch, I should of thought of that. It was certainly running in that direction before I lost track of it. That is enough information to help me locate it and see if I can run a new line in.
