hi,
im looking to change the petrol watercooled engine in my 1983 t25 for a diesel,im looking for advice on the best engine/gearbox setup, so far i understand that there are three or four options,

1y 1.9
aaz 1.9 turbo
vw/audi tdi
purgeout td

would prefer an engine without electronics

and then multiple gearbox options to go on top of that. ideally i would like to get 30mpg and be able to cruise at 70ish.
I would also like to be able to tow things like a jet ski or small caravan.
obviously reliability is key aswell.

any advice welcome

looks like you need to buy a transit


tow at 70 and 30mpg? dont think so.

you will need new engine + gerabox rebuild + all the donor parts .

you prob looking at at least £3000 unles you want to bodge it

60 -65 you get around 30mpg if you have spent the money , but cheaper to get a tt5(a good one) or transhit
