Hi after a bit of advise i need some gaskets for my heater exhangers but theres two different ones in just kampers My van is a 1982 2.0l Aircooled (first camper bit of a novice)

One says
Gaskets for heat exchangers cyclinder 1 or 4
2000cc Aircooled these gaskets are for the flat top heat exchangers straight inline holes

Or the other says

Gaskets for heat exchangers cyclinder 2 or 3
Fits all 2000cc type 4 engines up to july 1983

Wondering which it is for my van

Hello,

Are you talking about the copper rings between the cylinder head exhaust outlet and theheat exchanger.

There are 2 sorts, oval, and squared off oval.

I had to get some at the beginning of the year, and they are both available ( JK I think), but from the little photo it was not easy to make out.

You do realise you will have to remove the whole heat exchanger and exhaust system. Easiest with the engine out.

There are the difficult to get at cylinder head nuts.

All this to replace some 'everlasting' copper gaskets.

You've probably got loose nuts somewhere... :rofl :rofl :rofl

heat exchangers or cylinder heads making the thing noisy!!

Cordialement,

:ok

You should have the flat topped heat exchangers the front and rear ports use different gaskets so you need two of each gasket J10313 and J10315 if you are doing both sides or one each if you are only doing one side.
