Leisure Battery voltage

I was given a Lucas 643 battery that had been hanging round work for a few years, i don't think it had ever been used. I got it home and put it on charge using one of those charges from lidl, i think it's supposed to be able to recover old batteries, after 2 days on charge the charge said it was full but when tested it is only holding 9.1v.
Is it buggered? ( i think i know what the answer will be but i just thought i'd ask as i'm new to all this)
And is my only option to take it to the tip?
Cheers
Mike

The plates will be badly sulphated after that length of time...no amount of smart charging is going to recover several years of sulphation.
