High top supply and fit

Hi folks,

I'm warming to the idea of fitting a high top to my van. I did want a Pop top, but I'm looking at £2500 and I would just be paying for style.
So I've been looking at high top suppliers and I don't think I have found the right style yet.
Ultimately, I would love a dehler style roof and I would like it colour coded to my van.

Does anybody know anyone who can supply and fit these? Has anyone had one built from a fibreglass company?

Are they heavy? did it put a noticeable different on your fuel gauge.

I would like the room to store things, but also accommodate 2 people if needs be.

So please feel free to offer advice, suggestions.

Thanks

Michael

Personally I think this roof looks great on a syncro ( green one) mmmm lovely! I would get this myself if I ever built a camper from scratch

Thanks Guys,

Lloydy, I really like this roof, looks really good on the syncro, maybe because it's sprayed the same colour.

Thanks for your reply Steve, I have checked these before, they are really nice and a good price. I'm just not sure If I want something that high and that style, but maybe I need to look at this a bit more and put my practical thinking cap on.

anyway,
I need to pay for an engine swap first

I would say that this is the same conversion as I have on mine! And its great. I am 6 foot tall and can just about sleep up the top bunk (so great for kids) and I have a massive storage locker in the front part also.
I have side windows and 'port holes' in mine as well as a roof vent (which I find very usefull).

Mine has a 'wheeldon conversions' sticker on the back.........

I can measure the storage locker and email internal pics if you wish?

Thanks Nij, that would be great ... michaelroberts13@btinternet.com

For about £1000, it seem like a fair price to turn something pretty cramped into somthing much bigger. The idea of having addition permanent storage also seems apealing.

How much weight do you think these things add?

I wish I had a bit more of a nose around at vanfest :?

dont know weight but the devon side hinge tops weigh a ton, well not a ton but I would reckon with the steels etc they would be heavier than the tt's etc
