Childseats and three point seatbelts

Hi
Have just bought (on Wednesday) a 1989 Caravelle, which currently has 3 point seatbelts on the two seats, and lapbelts on the rearmost seats. The current 3 point belts on the pair of seats are much to short for our 1-year olds child seat (it would need to be 8-10 inches longer at a guess).

We want to fit two three point belts to the rearmost seats, but are worried that they will be too short. Anyone else had a problem with belts being to small for childseats? Does anyone know which are longer: the Brickwerks or the Justkampers 3-point belts?
Any advice gratefully received! Thanks.

Hi,

i think the JK site says how long their ones are in inches so you could measure, there is one they sell from memory which i think is meant to be 'extra long' but that could be like the difference between Xl in the UK and XL in USA
I know that securon do sell a belt extender which is essentially a two foot long piece of belt webbing with an eye on one end to bolt through the floor and another eye to connect to the end of your current one and bolt together- nt ideal but secure and may do the job. On principle of selling lots of tat I would generally say don't give the man your bucks (JK) but as I got a very cheap set of stainless water pipes off them last vanfest they're not so bad. Good luck.

The Brickwerks ones are fantastic quality! I'm in the process of fitting two into the rear of my converted panel van :)

Are they fairly easy to fit?

Thanks for the replies! Bought the Brickwerks ones, and they are certainly very long... Fitting seems quite straightforward too (I've done one and am about to do the other). Looking forward to taking the kids for a spin :D
