Eberspacher B2L and how they work

I have a 1990 T25 with multivan interior and under the back seat is an Eberspacher B2L off a 2.1mv. It is not working at the moment and when switched on the ecu just makes a clicking noise. a couple of things that I have noticed and could do with help on. There appears to no power going to the plug. What should the gap on the plug be? I also notice that there is a small twist off cap on the base of the ecu. The lid of this has a spring inside and the small chamber that it exposes looks as if it should house a fuse. Is this the case? And if so what type and what amp?
I would like to think that the problem is simple and that I do not have to spend a large amount of money on a repair.
The fan runs no problem when you switch it the other way, also Syncronutz had a quick look and said that the pump appeared to be working and exchanging the ecu with another made no difference.
Anybody got any ideas?
Please. Winter is coming.

It's written on the ecu!
Pm me your email if you want a manual.
E D I T:
It may be 1.25A if my memory serves me well.

Some handy stuff here
http://www.westfaliat3.info/eberB2L-D2L.pdf
and if you speak German a really useful one here that has step by step troubleshooting in it
http://www.bulliserver.de/download/d2l.pdf
I don't speak German too well but with typing the odd phrase into Google translate managed to get mine sorted. That doc shows how to make a test loom to bypass the switch/thermostat.
Was the ECU you swapped a known good one? My van came with one fitted and another as spare - neither worked and after checking all the other components in the Eber itself , I got one from German ebay that worked perfectly. I also had a dodgy thermostat which never called for heat so had to swap that out too.

Yep the ecu came out of a working eber. I think that I will have to do some studying now to solve this one. I will post back after I do some digesting.
Many thanks for the fast replies

Well, well, well don't you like it when it is simple. I read all the links that were sent to me. Thanks again to all those who helped. I then stripped out the fuel line and the wiring to check that was all connected properly. I even managed to pour petrol all over my head.
I replaced the fuse in the ECU with a 1.5amp could not get a 1.25 amp and then put it all back together. It's at this point that I find out that my leisure battery has not been charging sufficiently and that is where the Eber is wired to. Charge up the leisure and "Bobs your Auntie" it all fired up just fine.
What a numpty! I should have checked the power first.
Well that's me got heat for the coming winter.
Thanks again.
