AAZ needs an upgrade

Another tale of the infamous bottom pulley on an AAZ. Drove to vanfest and back over the weekend with no problem, driving back from exeter monday morning when off power coming down hill, the engine coughed and then died. Pulled over then looked into the bay to find the bottom pulley at a strange angle. Got recovered back to the shop to have a closer look. Pics tell the story.

Not even going to bother stripping this lump down to see what the damage is. We have less than 6 weeks till we go to spain so about time we updated the engine and put a tdi in the hole. We picked up one local for not alot but the pump was suspect, so best strip the new lump down to check things out.

Lots of other work to do this week, but will try to get the block cleaned up and hope to have fitted by the end of next week. We will have to sort the wiring loom as we have been given the whole car wiring with ecu. Not planning on doing to much in tuning the engine this side of spain, but have charge cooler and oil cooler to fit. Will be playing with vnt and remapping on the lead up to christmas, and just done a deal on a pd lump, so that may well be fitted at some stage.
