I have only ever replaced a cracked screen in the past and now I have a 2.5mm chip on the passenger side of the windscreen. I have looked on varous sites but cannot find any info on the smallest size of chip that is repairable.
Is my chip too small?

No chip is too small from my past experience, as one chip can lead to a crack over time depending on temperatures etc. You could try finding a chip treatment blob thingy which you put in the chip, and this prevents cracking.

My chip is too small at the moment. 3mm and above according to autoglass. I have to keep my eye on it. Though I have had it nearly months and it's very shallow too. I think it was a small stone on the M56 that did it.
I'm probably worrying about nothing really

There are two chips on my lower part of my Syncro windscreen, they are about an inch apart, with a straight line crack, but looks like they have been treated to stop the crack from growing.
I can see two black dots/filler, one in each, and looks like a professional job.
Keep an eye on it as you say, and if it gets any bigger, then maybe go look around the retail parks, as I remember when I lived in the UK, Auto-Glass used to do free chip repairs every other weekend at various retail parks across the UK.

When i rang autoglass about a chip in my windscreen. They told me it had to be a recent chip as old chips cannot be repaired.Mine was about 6 months old.And was to old to repair apparently

Chips less than 2 inches from the screen edge can't be repaired either. Mine was just over, had it fixed then broke it 2weeks through over loading. £60 excess wasn't too bad. Jon.
