temp guage

hi all got a 1.9 watercooled t25 yesterday my temp gauge shot up and the red light started flickering when i slid the heater control over to hot air inside the cab the temperature returned to normal im new to t25s and wondered if this was normal :?: cheers jeff

no it's not normal
the flashing light indicates low water level in the header tank (not the top up tank)

thanks kev ive just let it run on idle and found that water is coming out around the dalek cap not into the bottle behind the flap ive blown through the dalek cap and can blow and suck air so not sure why the water didnt flow through the tube ?

should i change the dalek cap thermostat and bleed the system ?

just ordered a genuine vw dalek cap from brickwerks looking for a thermostat but not sure which one i need it says wbx engine is that the one i need ?

As you have a WBX (water boxer, wasser boxer) engine I should say so :D

google water boxer engine if your at all interested :D

had a bit of spare time today so decided to bleed the system and see what happened followed the guide on brickwerks and noticrd my radiator was cold kept filling the header tank and bleeding the rad and eventually it got warm and temperature stayed halfway so hopefully ive cracked it ! just like to say thanks for your help and advice kev :D :D
