Campsites near Brighton?

I'm dropping my girlfriend off in Guildford tomorrow for a few girlie days with an old school friend of hers. Rather than spent a few nights on the sofa listening to their shopping adventures, I'm thinking of heading off to Brighton in the van. I've googled a few campsites and Sheepcote Valley Caravan Club Site sounds a possibility. Has anyone stayed recently and would recommend it?
Also, any suggestions of things to do and see in the area would be appreciated, I'll be taking a mountain bike, a wetsuit & a camera to keep me occupied.

Sheepcote Valley had the full signs up when I arrived, but could fit me in for £20.90 per night. I ended up at a site called Ecclesden farm for £15 per night including hook-up. It was a nice, quiet, basic site that I'll stay at again next time I visit Sussex.

I have used The Barn at Lncing several times. £10 per night without hook up. Relaxed and quiet at night. Shoreham airport nearby, but only light aircraft fly during the day. Close to bus route into Brighton about 5 miles away. You can easily pay more for parking in Brighton than it costs to camp here and take a bus. The site is basic with one flush toilet and washbasin, a couple of potaloos and a beach shower.

This time last year I was working in Hove and used to stay on the beach at Shoreham Fort for free, it was great and I used to enjoy a stroll along the beach before work.
