No big trip this year - so Cornwall will have to do!

Unfortunately I haven't been able to get away this summer. The plan was to take the bus to Transylvania for a month from August through September, but in June I was served with redundancy which I have been fighting until now. This summer has been miserable. No holiday, lots of work, stress, pain, torturous meetings, legal challenges and complex negotiations. Today, although I still haven't signed the contract, it seems they are going keep me after all. So I guess it was worth it.
Now I only have a week or so of my leave period left. A quick trip is in order. So I think I shall venture to the South coast starting in the New Forest, skip across to Dorset, quick stop in Devon and then along to Cornwall to see the Eden Project. I wonder if that the tail end of hurricane has done its worst already?!

Try Henry's campsite on the Lizard Peninsula. My son was just there in my van and says that it's wonderful

There's nothing wrong with Cornwall Gismo, but it doesn't have Vlad the Impaler's castles does it? (though from memory there is that shipwreck near St Austell they used in a Hammer Dracula film) In fact I'm getting very excited, I love the north Cornwall coastline so much, but I haven't been down that way for quite a few years. The New Forest has been lovely and the weather isn't too intimidating as yet, I think your back to school theory might just be working moggyM. I'm just happy driving and not reading HR legalese! This is why I own a bus!
Thanks for the campsite tip Miss Syd!

Dennis Cove in Padstow. Site is OK but it's just a 10 minute flat stroll along the camel trail into padstow and an abundance of pubs, ice cream, pasties, fish and chips and beaches..........just turn right at the bottom of the slope as you leave the site by the small lake/lodge to get to the trail
Also a great walk to trevone around the headland at the mouth of the camel estuary, then return via crugmeer (check streemap OS map)
