A 12v battery won't run your fridge for long, only a few hours at best. A two-way fridge is designed to run on 12v when travelling with the engine running, and then to switch to gas when parked up. A three-way fridge is the same but with the option of 240v for when you're parked with hook-up. I ran my interior lights off a 65 amp hour starter battery I got from a scrappy for a tenner when I first got my van. It used to see me through a weekend's camping before getting too low. A proper leisure battery will cost a whole lot more and may not be worth it for just limited use?

if you own an electric compressor type fridge, youll stand a much better chance than having an absorption type, as most vans have. the advantage of absorption is you can run them on gas also, but they chew a LOT more electricity than the other sort.

Was about to say that. Getting as repetitive as the "what oil" posts used to be.

We forgive you as a newbie though
