Squeaky Brakes

I run on a daily basis a 1985 1.9GW petrol Westy Joker.

I am having problems at the mo with the brakes squealling like a 'Banshee'

The brake pads were changed and a VW brand( not known) put it. Although the braking was alot sharper they still squealled. I believe these were too hard so a softer and cheaper set have been put in. Initially these have been ok but not as sharp, but i am still getting albeit on an intermittent basis, kin squeaky brakes.

I don't carry out any of my mechanical work so it will have to go back in

Any advice greatly recieved.

And i thought people were just looking at my bus until i saw some kids put there hands over their ears.

did you put any copper grease on the reverse of the pads?

Pagid do an anti squeel lube, you can get it from JK's. It's really good stuff, might be worth replacing the anti squeel plates also. They are only a couple of quid.
It worked wonders with mine.....

Thanks guys.

Just wondering if this a common problem and what are the best brand of pads to buy?

As i mentioned in my thread i don't do any of my own mechanics so i will mention your replies.

Squealy brakes are reasonably common, full stop. Copper grease or anti squeal grease (same stuff really) on the back of the brake pad is the common fix, also replacing with a n other brand of pad seems to be accepted. Shame you don't do it yourself as adding the copper grease is probably the easyest thing you can do to your brakes.
