Hullo folks,

Getting a rubbing sound I think its from the rear kerbside wheel when I take a right. It sounds like a brake drum rubbing but why would it be worse turning a corner? Drum felt warm after a five mile run (a bit warmer than the other one).

At MOT in July got an advisory for slight play in rear bearings (same the year before).

Hope its nowt to do with the differential!!

What's the best way to check this? Can I jack one wheel up and rotate it or do I need to get them both off the ground?

Grateful for advice on how to proceed. .... to the nearest scrappies! Yeah, good idea!

Thanks for the reply. Will get the wagon into the garage and get both rear bearings replaced. Maybe get an extra mph out of it!

Took the bus to the garage and they've saved me a lot of unnecessary expence. They found the cause was a ....
FOREIGN BODY IN THE BRAKE DRUM!

There was bit of metal about 4cm x 1cm which looks like a broken clip of some sort which had found its way into the drum. That explains the sound like a worn brake pad!

Brakes work great now and no noise.
