Hi,

Have been having a few power loss issues recently and am going through the list of possible options
Air filter = new
fuel filter = new
Carb filter = nice and clean
Vacuum lines replaceed
Dist Vacuum unit replaced as faulty
Timing reset
etc..

was looking at the large rubber tube from the Carb to the oil breather, as it has been mentioned as a possible issue to look at. So for some reason I thought I'd take it off the Carb and blow down it :-) ( weirdo )

Welll Not sure what i was expecting, but what i found was there seemed to be a small hole in the top of the oil breather unit, under the rim on one side ??

This seems such a strange place to get a hole in what otherwise looks to be a unit in good condition.

So question is, do any of you others out there have the same thing ?

The hole is small, located on the underside on the left hand side as you look into the engine from the rear. oil breather device is shown in this oiccy i have grabbed that is n the other end of the gentlerman blue hose ?

Any one ??

Thanks

I think someone has tried to prise the top off maybe.
plug it up with some araldite

lack of power..
the list is quite extensive so go through it methodically and you will discover the culprit, which you have already started

timing
fuel filter choked
Fuel pump faulty
uneven or low cylinder compression
worn, faulty or incorrect gap on plugs
Vacuum leak on inlet side (carb-distributor vacuum lines, brake servo vacuum hose, gaskets, choke pull down unit failure)
Clutch slip
Brakes binding
