I'm currently looking at replacement seats for my '81 air-cooled as the original ones have seen better days. I was going to have them re upholstered but SWMBO wants head rests, so that's out.

We love the swivel bases fitted already, so whatever we replace them with needs to not compromise the ability to turn the seats round.

I was going to just go with t25 seats from a newer van with head rests, but then saw captains chairs. The other half wants them now!

My question is, can you still swivel captains seats, or are they too big?

It's also easier to swivel them as your wallet is a hell of a lot lighter
