Oil Cooler

Hi all - I have a sensor on my oil cooler, with a blue/white wire coming off it and back into the loom. Can anyone advise what this sensor is please? I cannot find it in any of the wiring diagrams, or in the lube section of the Bentley that deals with the oil cooler and associated parts.

My van is a 1981 diesel, fitted with a 1Y engine from a '98 Seat Ibiza.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Ok, I've worked out what the blue / white wire is - it's the feed to the glow-plug light. Lord knows why it was on a sensor on the oil cooler....

So, can anyone advise what that sensor on the cooler is? I'm guessing that it's an oil temperature sender? No gauge for it in my van though, it'll have come with the 1Y from the Ibiza I guess :)

Or an oil pressure sender perhaps?

Hello again,

is this on the filter housing flange or on the actual oil cooler? Normally you'd find a yellow wire going to the high revs oil pressure sender on the fliter housing....

on my old 1.6 it didnt have the sender on the oil cooler, just the one on the head...so im guessing the vans that did have this extra wire were the 1.6 td's...just ignore it greg, you dont have anything to connect to it :ok
