Hello all! I am moving into my camper at the end of the month for a year, fed up of paying someone else’s mortgage and going to save as much money as possible. Found a site close to work where the farmer lets people stay on a bit of land he has, it has hook up and my awning should make it a bit more comfortable. Has anyone else here done something similar and could provide me with some useful advice?

I think Ringo and Jed the spread had a spell at doing a similar thing.

I know you have hook up but I'd recommend you have some sort of back up such as propex / eberspacher since farms or anywhere 'out in the sticks' are generally fed by overhead lines which can be brought down in extreme weather conditions - most common in winter.

I'm a fulltimer. But my van's probably a bit bigger than yours.

Love "camping" but I wouldn't fancy living in a T25 or something similar full time.

A friend of a friend lives in his T25 - and apparently has managed to fit a wood burner too. Would love to see how well (or badly) he's managed that.

I'd struggle with the size of it I think, but nice to have a fallback.

Usually people set up a Post Box for mail.

Mail's not so much a problem as having a "legal" address for things like work, insurance, driving licence, banking etc.

It's almost impossible to live in this day and age without a fixed address. PO box's can be used for some things but the best bet is to use a family member or close friends address as your "official" residence.

Post will go to a relatives, so no worries there

I lived in mine for 5 months, gets a bit crowded and making the bed daily is a bit of a chore, and if you are like I was driving to work packing up all the time gets on your nerves, I ended up buying a caravan, I live on a farm £30 a week all in, best of both worlds now,

California exclusive is the way to go, best of both worlds.

Done it, left the rented house world behind and am now "homeless" Lol. On a nice little bit of land with hook up and water, close to work also. Living the dream........ I hope..... Lol

Good stuff. We've never looked back.
