Ok please bare with me,where the sliding door runner goes once open there is a panel that sits over it-how does this come off? On our air-cooled it was two screws and a shove up but on my 1989 van I cannot for the life of me get the Panel to shove up -is there more screws holding it in or should it just shove up the same ?
Hope that makes sense ?
Thanks
Katie

Fitting of the Panel is the same as it was when you had your Air-Cold, 2screws rhs/lhs.
Just needs a good push up. Try a block of wood against the edge and tap the block with a hammer.
Should dislodge it.

Anyone who has seen the Roller DVD will note the bit where this panel is removed - allegedly with a simple tap with a rubber mallet. This was rather tongue-in-cheek as in reality it took over 20 minutes
You're fighting rust and moss - nothing more.

When i did baldwelders van i had to remove the covers. It got to a point with one that no matter how i tried to remove it it just wouldnt budge. But once it did start to move it also showed up loads of filler in the cover panel, it all dropped out. im guessing it was the shocks of tapping the panel that loosened it off.

I too wish to remove this panel as my rear arch has been replace recently and I wish to mask off, and spray to colour match. I can also confirm that on my 1992 LLE Syncro, the none sliding door side the panel is none removable like earlier models.
