Anyone got any recommendations for sites, walks and villages to visit on the Llyen peninsula?

I was there a couple of weeks ago, stayed a few nights at a nice site

we went for a surf lesson at Hells Mouth bay just past Abersoch; its absolutely stunning

Llanbedrog on the way to Abersoch is very nice with a lovely National Trust beach (multi coloured beach huts) and fantastic walk around the headland (look out for the iron man ). Campsite called Bolmynydd at Llanbedrog but it is up a steep and narrow lane and another good campsite about a mile away in Mynytho called The Willows. Two good pubs in Llanbedrog and some cool surf shops in Abersoch .

did 4 nights there 2 weeks ago - can't recommend this place highly enough if you want to drive nearly to the very end!

Their website isn't the best but brilliant place - wifi £1 a day

I'm just back from one overnight there - not on a site, but I've never seen so many in a small ish place.

It's all good. I walked up Yr Eifl and got home to find the OS map I'd ordered had arrived while I was away.
A quick check confirmed I'd walked up the wrong mountain!

Plenty of beaches, real sandy ones.

I love it around here. Abersoch brings back many happy teenage memories. I used to stay in an old wooden holiday 'hut' overlooking Porthceriad Beach (all mod cons...no shower, no real toilet). Last time I went up there, someone had demolished the hut. Shame.
Try the Nant-y-big campsite near Bwlchtocyn for wonderful views/walks.
I used to do nothing all summer except pick wild mushrooms and go fishing. Swapping fresh fish for milk and bread with other campers.
I'll go back when I fix me van!

This is a really good site, not far from hells mouth beach and the owners are very friendly

Thanks for all your camping recommendations and in good I went to none of them

We camped at Dwyros in Aberdaron and Tyn Y Coed (previously greenacres) in Morfa Nefyn

Apart from the wind we somehow managed to dodge all the rain showers and had some really good spells of sun.

From Aberdaron we walked along the coast to Mynnd Mawr and saw dolphins from the cliff path

From Morfa Nefyn we walked to Porth Dinllaen and the Ty Coch Inn were we sat and watched the waves and mountain vistas (and spotted a seal just past the lifeboat station). We visited in the evening which involved a spooky walk along the golf course road in the dark as the tide was in, and we were the last two sat outside when the pub closed at 9.30pm. It's that remote the pub only opens friday and satruday evenings until 10pm in the off season (12-3pm every day too). And it was that quiet we were asked if we wanted another beer and then left happilly drinking it on the seats outside after the pubs lights went out early . The only two people in the village.



Did the usual Criccieth, Abersoch and Hells Mouth Beach too. And castle penryn on the way home.
