Hi everyone, having carried out most of my service tasks on my Syncro, im now about to change the alternator, and power steering belts.

The job looks easy enough, however I see that the belts go around some of the piping, and dipstick. Will the old belt fit underneath the oil filler tube, and piping, or do I need to remove these in order to replace the belts.

I thought I would ask first having not found any info on aux belts in the wiki. Best to arm myself with your knowledge prior to starting to change them only to find I cannot complete the job due to some obstacle.

Thanks in advance. :ok

only thing you have to break into to do the ps belt is the water pipe that runs from #2 to the balance pipe which should be cable tied to the filler pipe, I fitted a join in the pipe run so I can easily split it just clamping off above and below the joint so no water loss and no mess

Cheers, all done, I replaced that clamp, the only thing I was stumped on was that electrical lead, but after cleaning what looked like a connector, I found it simply unplugged allowing belt removal.

I like how the alternator adjustment ratchet type fixing does its job, its ideal, get the right tention, and the cog locks into place.

Quite easy really.

Thanks Aidan, btw you have pm re software.
