hi all im new to these vans and learning slowly,
this started yesterday (might have been happening before but ive just bought the van and didnt notice it on previous trips out) it happens when changing up into third between 25 and 28 miles/hr. you can rev through it and it stops or back the revs off and it stops. it feels like driving on(small) coble stones ive read the wiki and archive and searched.

the engine is a 1991 dj with 79000 miles on it,it starts 1st time from cold and 1st time when hot. it has stalled once waiting at a roundabout but fired up 1st turn of the key. this isnt intermittent it happens all the time, all connections look clean and tight (taken off frowned at and put back), checked the earth strap and cleaned connections, checked the airfilter box for leaves etc. i disconected the battery for 30 mins.

anyone point me in the right direction

thanks mark

sound like it could be leads. try a plant squirter full of water and spray lightly the ht leads preferably in the dark see if they fail. more so when you rev it. ??????

put a mist on the ht leads and cap no signs of shorting out or change in running through the revs

i will change them and the plugs etc

hi all

ive changed ht leads, dist cap, rotor arm, plugs, and airfliter, ive cleaned all electrical conections with cleaner and a little paint brush, and its still missing/hunting underload, im thinking that its the airflow meter. unless anyone has any ideas or pointers to stop me running down a blind alley, i have zero experience with these engines so im at the bottom of the learning curve any help will be great and stop me pulling my hair out

cheers mark

has anybody got a spare that is a known good one for sale or that i could borrow to confirm or rule it out
