zig unit ?

hi all am i right in thinking that a zig unit or inverter converts the 12v power from a leisure battery to 240 v ? if so are there any pros and cons ? thx jeff :?:

The zig unit doesn't covert 12v into 240v. It takes the 240v from a hook-up and uses it to charge the leisure battery. It also distributes the 12v from the leisure battery or starter battery to the 12v services, lights, water pump etc. You need an invertor to step-up the 12v to 240v and there are plenty of posts about the pros and cons of using one.
