I dont know if any of you have seen this yet but here is what the big deal is with the Syncro-Services gear box protection. As most of you know this has been around for a while but no one had actually seen it fitted. We have seen all the replies and ideas on this kind of product and nobody came up with this design with the rear CV protection so its unique to Syncro-Services and is a great bit of kit, http://campervanculture.com/2011/08/add ... cro-westy/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks for the info but we are in slovinia now, Croatia was just to hot for any messing around. Saying that it's in the low 40's here in the mountains.

no worries chap. If your in Slovenia you have to go to Lake Bled. Only one campsite on lake, you cant miss it and its very clean/tidy with excellent facilities.

Boat trip to island in lake. Walk round lake and go up to the castle on the cliffs-big footpath, once at castle walk back via the back streets , you will find a bact street pizza place , monster pizzas for peanuts! :ok

Lie down in the shade for a snooze from 12-3pm! and make the most of any breeze you can find.

You will not see many locals out and about at this time; they are inside with the shutters drawn (and aircon going!) they all reappear in the late afternoon and many living by the sea/rivers will go for a cooling swim before their evening main meal.

In Korcula the whole citadel was built to catch the prevailing breeze and funnel it down the narrow streets which were awash with very young local kids until well after 11pm.

There is a very good reason for that old ditty about mad dogs and englishmen going out in the midday sun! Don't do it; or at least use the hottest part of the day to move the van on to the next destination.

Anyway, in envy of of your trip as i sit here at work looking at the leaden sky! Enjoy the rest of of your break and safe travels.

All of which has nothing to do with bashplates, but the very reason that this forum is so much better than places like samba, where they get right out of their prams if you go even slightly off-topic :roll:

Digression, detours and hijacks, so what? 8)

Back to the original subject : My syncro belly protection is the only one guarenteed landmine proof AND significantly lowers the CG of the van (it's that heavy)
