Hi i am looking for a place in Cornwall where i can get the interior of my van re-done so basically want all of the headlining and carpet stripped out and need ply lining replaced and re carpeted. I have come across a company called Westcountry Campervans who seem to be quite big on van interiors, i have looked on their website at the pictures of vans that they have carpeted and they look very nice but they all seem to be VW T4 AND T5's. Has anyone had any work done by this company or know anyone who has had work done by them and if so how good was their work? If not are there any other companies in Cornwall who specialise in van interiors? I want to find find out before i travel down to see them. Any info would be great!

Thanks

Chris

Hi. We had work done there & it was a nightmare, we weren't/ aren't very happy. However- I worked for trading standards for many, many years & know my rights- so will be persuing further!

Well me and my wife went along to Westcountry Campervans today and spoke to a chap called Steve, very nice friendly guy. We saw a couple of vans that he had in one was a VW T5 which had been conerted into a campervan and looked very very nice i must say, and a Renault van which he was fitting out with carpet and a vinyl floor and also looked great! We would have been more than happy to have him carry out the work for us but he said that he was fully booked until at least October! So we shall have to look elsewhere unfortunately :( .

The work we have seen on T4/T5's did look very good & I wouldn't hesitate to mention his work to a t4/t5 owner- but Feel free to have a look at the work completed on our van! I can happily post some pics on here if I can work out how to do it!!

Hi

He showed us some pictures of work that he had done on T25, showed us before and after pictures and have to say that the work that he did on this van looked very nice and made the van look much nicer than it was originally. Can you possibly email me some pics of your van to me? My email is: chriscoles2001@hotmail.co.uk.

Thanks

Chris

I will post them on this thread as soon as I get some taken! The van definately looks better than before, but the 6 weeks he had it ( we were given a rough guide of 1 week max- however dropped it to him a week early in case it helped!) the wiring & cupboards were not fixed back, he couldn't find the zig unit ( later found!) the underneath seat was put back together upside down/back to front & not fitted! Found out last week that the van wouldn't meet safety standards for gas connection as it needs vents installed (which there was no mention of! However he would kindly show us how to do it!!) the sliding door will not lock as the carpeting is to close, the trim around the roof falls off when touched, there are gaps in the carpeting, wrinkles appearing on the roof lining corner & we are still waiting for the engine hatch to be recovered!!! And as much as he's a really nice chap- the endless " yeah I'm sorry about that" doesn't really put issues right! We paid more than initially quoted Price to help meet the additional costs he didn't expect- but all in all- not the best experience! So that's my experience of Westcountry Campervans! :ok

Nothing a quick letter referring to the Supply Of Goods & Services Act 1982 cant resolve! ;) :rofl :rofl
hadn't put anything on this forum about it till you asked if anyone else had any experience of them!
